We provide an important Occupational Health and Safety consultancy service to the Motor Industry in South Africa by providing dealerships access to affordable expertise through regular monthly safety inspections. Although most dealerships have some form of internal Occupational Health and Safety policy, we nevertheless urge our clients to make use of our external consultants in order to eliminate complacency and apathy in the workplace and to free up your staff to get on with their jobs.

These safety inspections ensure that all essential procedures as well as electrical and hydraulic equipment conform to the minimum legal requirements as set out in the Occupational Health and Safety Act No. 85 of 1993. Any deviations that are found are discussed personally with the relevant Health and Safety representative and a written report is also submitted which requires their signature. Apart from these equipment inspections, any unsafe acts by employees or unsafe working conditions are also noted and reported on.

As can be expected in the working environment, some deviations are found and we encourage dealerships to take corrective action as soon as these deviations are brought to their attention in order to avoid possible fines and prosecution by the Department of Labour. This ensures that dealerships stay within the minimum legal requirements and proves the worth of having regular safety inspections at each site.

Over the years Absolute Risk Management has also developed a scoring system to measure and compare legal compliance between different dealerships within the same group and their departments. This is of great value at executive level to motoring groups with numerous dealerships in order to identify trends and compare safety standards across the board.
